ScanCart - Terms of Service

Welcome to ScanCart, developed by Elmvick. By downloading, accessing, or using the ScanCart mobile application, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Purpose of the App

ScanCart is a community shopping app designed to help users scan product barcodes, track cart totals, choose or confirm store locations, submit shelf prices, and view community price data where available.

2. Community Price Data Is Not Guaranteed

ScanCart relies on community reports and backend calculations. Product prices, store information, trusted prices, comparison data, and freshness signals may be incomplete, outdated, inaccurate, unavailable, or different from the actual shelf or checkout price.

Price accuracy is not guaranteed. You are responsible for checking the actual shelf price, promotion conditions, unit price, and final checkout price before making any purchase decision.

3. User Reports and Contributions

When you submit price reports, product details, store information, or other content, you agree to provide information honestly and lawfully. You must not submit fake, abusive, misleading, unlawful, spam, or intentionally incorrect reports.

Elmvick may review, moderate, reject, aggregate, adjust, or remove reports and related data in order to protect the quality, safety, and integrity of the ScanCart community database.

4. Store and Product Information

Store and product information may come from users, public product sources, backend calculations, or app-generated suggestions. Elmvick does not guarantee that any store, product, barcode, location, category, brand, image, or price history is complete or correct.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to submit false prices or intentionally distort community data; harass, spam, abuse, or mislead other users; bypass moderation, rate limits, security rules, or trust systems; scrape or extract app data in a harmful or unlawful way; or reverse engineer, modify, or redistribute the app except where permitted by law.

6. Availability and Changes

ScanCart may change over time. Features, data availability, store coverage, price history, comparison tools, and backend services may be added, changed, limited, interrupted, or discontinued without notice.

7. No Financial or Shopping Advice

ScanCart is an informational shopping tool. It does not provide financial advice, retailer advice, or guaranteed savings. Any purchasing decision is your responsibility.

8. No Warranty

ScanCart is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. Elmvick does not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, accurate, or suitable for every store, region, product, or shopping situation.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Elmvick shall not be liable for direct or indirect losses, including financial loss, incorrect shopping decisions, missed savings, data loss, service interruptions, or reliance on inaccurate community price data.

10. Intellectual Property

The ScanCart app, website, design, branding, code, and related content are owned by Elmvick or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or use them except as allowed by these Terms or applicable law.

11. Changes to These Terms

Elmvick may update these Terms from time to time. Updates will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of ScanCart after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
